MasterCard SecureCode is free to MasterCard cardholders and was developed to help prevent unauthorized use of MasterCard cards online.

MasterCard SecureCode protects MasterCard cards with a personal code, giving cardholders reassurance that only they can use their MasterCard cards online.

Once your card is activated, your card number will be recognized whenever it's used at participating online stores. A MasterCard SecureCode window will automatically appear and your MasterCard card issuer will ask for your code. You'll enter your code to verify your identity and complete your purchase.

At stores that aren't participating in MasterCard SecureCode yet, your MasterCard card will continue to work as usual.
